NEWTON, September 4, 2024 --The 2023-24 North Carolina state test results show continued gains for students across most grades and subjects according to the 2023-24 state test results presented to the State Board of Education today. Catawba County Schools performs well, shows increases in growth and proficiency.
On May 30, 2024, Catawba County Schools celebrated its dedicated employees during the district-wide "Finish Line Fuel Up" event at CVCC's Tarlton Complex. The event saw enthusiastic participation from all CCS employees, who brought their best school spirit to the celebration.

Catawba County Schools Superintendent Dr. Matt Stover announced a new principal appointment and two principal moves for 2024-25. Neil Everett was named Principal of Mill Creek Middle School. James Byrd will be taking the helm at River Bend Middle School, and Tashanna Mays will be the Compass Principal/Assistant Director of Behavior Support effective July 1, 2024. The school board confirmed the positions on Monday night at their regular Board of Education meeting.
