McIntosh Headshot

Dear Bandys High School Family,

Welcome to a new school year at Bandys High School! As a proud alumna of Bandys, I feel blessed beyond measure to lead the school that shaped me, and I am filled with gratitude for our entire school community—students, parents, teachers, and staff—for your support, trust, and partnership. It is your commitment that makes Bandys not just a school, but a family.

Academically, we will keep raising the bar by focusing on student learning and the total school experience. To achieve our goals, we expect our students to come prepared, work diligently, and demonstrate the character and integrity that make Trojan Country proud. We will continue school-wide initiatives that support our students' academic, career, personal and social growth. Ultimately, our goal is a learning environment where every student is known by name, challenged, supported, and celebrated.

Parental involvement remains paramount to student success. We encourage you to stay engaged by attending school events, joining our parent organizations, and maintaining open communication with teachers and administrators. One of the best ways to stay connected is through ParentSquare, our primary communication tool—please be sure you're signed up. When schools, families, and communities work together, students achieve their full potential.

I would also like to acknowledge our exceptional faculty and staff. Their dedication, professionalism, and passion for education are unmatched. Whether teaching in the classroom, supervising a club, coaching a team, or maintaining our campus, they are committed to making Bandys a place where students can succeed and grow.

To our students: This is your year to lead, learn, and grow. Get involved in activities, take pride in your work, and push yourself to reach new heights. Take ownership of your learning and support one another—you are the heart of this school. Most importantly, remember that YOU MATTER and we are glad you are here.

This year also brings a leadership transition, as Dr. Maynor, who served as an outstanding principal for seven years, was promoted to Catawba County Schools Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. While we will miss him, we carry forward the longstanding tradition of excellence he helped build, with our sights set just as high.

We are excited about the opportunities this year holds. We invite you to get involved and enjoy one of our many extracurricular events on campus. Together, we will continue building a school culture rooted in excellence, respect, tradition, and community.

If I can be of assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. You can contact our front office at (828) 241-1471 or email me directly at leslie_mcintosh@catawbaschools.net. Go Trojans!

Sincerely,

Dr. Leslie Sigmon McIntosh,

Principal Bandys High School
