Bandys High School Choirs

The Bandys High School Choral Program is a welcoming community where students grow as musicians, leaders, and people. Through outstanding choral performances, meaningful relationships, and a commitment to excellence, our choirs provide students with opportunities to develop confidence, creativity, discipline, and teamwork that extend far beyond the classroom.

Students perform a diverse repertoire spanning classical, contemporary, multicultural, and popular styles while building healthy vocal technique and strong musicianship. In addition to concerts throughout the year, choir students have opportunities to participate in festivals, Music Performance Adjudication (MPA), honor choirs, community performances, leadership retreats, musical productions, and other enriching musical experiences.

At Bandys, we believe every student has something valuable to contribute. Whether a student is an experienced singer or joining choir for the first time, they will find a supportive environment that encourages personal growth, artistic expression, and a sense of belonging.

Our goal is simple: to inspire students to become confident musicians, compassionate leaders, and lifelong advocates for the arts.

Bandys High School Handbell Program

The Bandys High School Handbell Program offers students a unique opportunity to experience the art of handbell ringing while developing musicianship, teamwork, precision, and leadership. As one of the few high school handbell programs in North Carolina, our ensemble provides a rewarding musical experience that challenges students to work together toward a common goal.

Students learn proper ringing techniques, music reading skills, rhythmic accuracy, and ensemble awareness while performing a wide variety of literature, from traditional and sacred works to contemporary, jazz, pop, and original compositions written specifically for handbells.

The handbell ensemble performs throughout the school year at concerts, community events, festivals, and special performances. Students also have opportunities to participate in workshops, leadership experiences, and collaborations with other performing ensembles, allowing them to grow both musically and personally.

More than learning to ring bells, students become part of a close-knit community built on trust, responsibility, and encouragement. Every member plays an essential role, discovering that individual preparation and commitment contribute to the success of the entire ensemble.

Our goal is to cultivate skilled musicians, confident leaders, and compassionate individuals while sharing the joy and artistry of handbell music with our school and community.

Bandys High School Theater Arts

The Bandys High School Theater Arts Program provides students with opportunities to explore their creativity, develop confidence, and discover the power of storytelling through live performance. Whether on stage or behind the scenes, students learn valuable skills in communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership while working together to bring productions to life.

Students participate in all aspects of theatrical production, including acting, singing, dancing, technical theater, stage management, set construction, lighting, sound, costumes, props, and makeup. Through rehearsals and performances, they gain experience in artistic expression, responsibility, and teamwork while building friendships that often last well beyond high school.

The Theater Arts Program presents high-quality productions that entertain, inspire, and engage audiences while providing meaningful learning experiences for every student involved. From dramatic works to Broadway-style musicals, each production challenges students to grow as performers, technicians, and creative thinkers.

At Bandys High School, theater is more than putting on a show—it's about finding your voice, supporting one another, embracing new challenges, and creating something extraordinary together.
